One of the magazines had a comparison between the C6 Corvette and the new Cobra a few months back. The C6 Corvette was surprisingly faster than the GT500 in 0-60, quarter mile, and top speed. The reason for the slower 0-60 and quarter mile times was traction. After Ford was done with the motor for the GT500, they realized that it was 140 lbs (if I remember correctly) heavier than the GT motor. As a result of the terrible weight distribution, the magazine drivers couldn't get the car to grip from a stop. The handling wasn't that great either.
